Parenthood is hard – from prenatal appointments and pregnancy, birth, the first few weeks postpartum, to their first day of school and beyond. Add in social media, with the myriad of myths, misinformation, and mom (and dad)-shaming, and it’s a miracle anyone is able to make it through it. And yet, we do…because we’re parents! We know it’s hard before we step foot out of bed every day, and yet we make it happen with a smile on our face and love in our hearts, because our children are our entire world and they deserve the best.

These are the challenges that parents face every day. But at Little Bee Wellness, we believe being educated and prepared is being informed. All educational classes are taught with a holistic, anthropologic, evidence-based approach, focusing on the child-parent relationship, and attached, responsive parenting.

We do not believe in sleep training of any kind, but instead believe in responsive parenting that nurtures both the parent and infants natural instincts, what our babies – and parents – expect and thrive with. As many parents who we’ve worked with tell us, “it’s what feels right.” If you are looking for classes, education, or consultation on sleep training techniques, we are not the place for you, and will not tolerate any argument for sleep training, separation, or isolation. Please also note that we support every family; we do not discriminate, judge, or compare, and do not tolerate any form of discrimination at any class, event, or support group. Every parent deserves to be educated and informed as they make the best choices for their families. We provide support and education for breastfeeding and formula feeding families alike. We know and understand that not every family can or even wants to breastfeed. How a family feeds their infant is their choice, and we don’t have a single ounce of doubt that every family we support is making the best decisions for their family. We are here to support every step of their parenting journey.

Founder Amber Cowan is a passionate mom who is dedicated to helping families on their journey, from prenatal & postpartum support, babyhood, childhood & beyond! As a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist, she has trained to help families with breastfeeding support and stays up to date with the most recent scientific evidence supporting breastfeeding as the biological norm. She is a current student of the Isla-Grace Attachment-Focused Sleep & Parenting Program, which focuses in depth on what is biologically normal for infant and parent sleep – and beyond. She is a supporter of Professor James McKenna’s studies on breastsleeping and the Mother-Baby Behavioral Sleep Laboratory. She has vowed to be a lifelong student on the topics of attachment- and responsive-parenting to help families make truly informed decisions and to help them enjoy every moment along the way.

As a Licensed Zumbini Instructor, she helps families of children aged 6 months to 4 years bond through music & movement classes, introducing the sounds of music from cultures around the world to help shape the tiny brains dancing along with the class. Zumbini and other sensory classes provide a unique atmosphere and culture to promote the bond between child and caregiver.
