WHO International Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes Statement

Little Bee Wellness and all employees abide by the WHO International Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes, which can be found here. We support every family on their parenthood journey, wether they decide to feed their baby with formula or breastmilk. Howerever, we will not recommend any breastmilk substitute, bottle, artificial nipple, or pacifier to any client. Recommending this information goes directly against the WHO Code and is not within the CBS or Lactation Educator scope of practice. Furthermore, every family and infant are unique, and this recommendation should come from the infant's pediatrician or dietitian who has medical and nutritional training and knows what is best for their unique situation. We do recommend paced bottle feeding for any infant being bottle fed - with either formula or breatsmilk - for many reasons, including safety, to mimic the natural feeding pattern of infants, and to prevent aspiration.

If you have more questions about the WHO Code, our position on it, or about infant feeding in general, please reach out to info@littlebeewellness.com
